Post Match Reaction : Trevor Woodman

Trevor Woodman gives his reaction to the 29-23 loss at Sixways.

“We managed to get our noses in front, we had done the hard bit pulling ourselves back into the game from a nine point deficit at half time but we then allowed them to dominate us and let the game go.”

“I thought that we started off strongly, the first part of the game we looked the better team but that didn’t last for long and we let far too many errors creep into our game and deservedly went in behind at half time. We were behind for most of the game and were trying to pull the game back and I thought that we played some really exciting stuff in glimpses but generally we made a lot of sloppy mistakes throughout the game and that really hurt us.”

“We looked very tired last weekend but this week that wasn't an excuse. The boys knew that they let themselves down with their performance last week and we didn’t do much in the way of full out training this week in order to give the boys a bit of a rest and to go into tonight's game in the best shape that we could. I don't think it was a case of tiredness out there tonight I just think that we were very sloppy in our execution. We finished strongly and looked good in that last five minutes, which ensured that we didn’t come away with nothing again, but the dressing room is in a bad place now because we worked hard to get ourselves in front and the game was there for us.”

“We don’t have any games now for the next two weeks with the LV=Cup so it is a good opportunity for the boys to get some rest before we start some real hard work ahead of the game against Northampton.”
