The 25-year-old joins Wasps from Worcester and comes highly regarded as a young player with a big future.
London Wasps Director of Rugby Dai Young said: “I have been impressed with Joe over the last few seasons and he’s a young English player I believe with a lot of potential. He has an excellent kicking game and he attacks the line very well and has the ability to really get a backline moving. He’s comfortable in the centre and at fullback as well as at ten and his aim moving here is really to reignite his career and I believe we can help him to do that. He’ll be playing here with lots of other young English talent and I think he’ll enjoy his time at the Club.”
Carlisle has made 90 appearances and scored 477 points for Worcester since coming through the Club’s Academy set-up and earlier this season set a Club record for the highest ever number of points in a European game.
Carlisle has been side-lined with injury for some of this season but is now back fully fit.
