At our home Aviva Premiership Rugby game against Bath Rugby on Sunday 6th January 2013, we welcomed some special guests, courtesy of the London Wasps Community Foundation. The youngsters were nominated by the Chelmsford YMCA after experiencing an incredibly tough couple of years. Both of our guests play rugby, and use it as a way of dealing with some of their issues. They have displayed amazing maturity in terms of what has been happening, and they could have chosen a different path and be in a worse place.
Before their visit, Chelmsford YMCA Projects Manager Craig Gough told wasps.co.uk, "Thank you so much for this kind offer. You have made my day, and probably year, and I know that the young people will be pleased as well."
Community Rugby Manager Dave Larham added, "The spirit of rugby is used in many ways to inspire and motivate young people. We were pleased to be able to offer a positive experience to two young rugby players who have experienced troubled times."
We were delighted to welcome the group to Adams Park Stadium and hope they had a fantastic day out with us.
