London Wasps support local school’s Sports Days

Read about 400 local children enjoying sport as part of the Olympic Legacy

Our Community Team supported the launch of the Wycombe District Sports Development Team's Year 7 School Sports Introduction Days. The aim of the project was to engage local schools in to new activities and build upon the legacy of the Olympic Games.

The Sports Days were held at the Wycombe Sports Centre, with over 400 children from Sir William Ramsay School, Cressex School and St. Michael's Schools in attendance. The activities included Tag Rugby and a variety of other multi-sports delivered by local coaches and National Governing Bodies.

Community Rugby Coach Ian Isham said, "It has been a great opportunity for the pupils to get involved in Tag Rugby and multi-sport activities. There was a fantastic display of teamwork and sportsmanship."

Wycombe District Sports Development Officer Joe Pegg said, "The Sports Days were a great success; it was good to see so many people taking part in sports that they might not always have the opportunity to take part in."
