A large number of supporters stayed behind after the win over London Welsh to show their appreciation of two of the Club’s players, who were being celebrated for two very different reasons.
Payne, in his 10th season at London Wasps, made his 250th appearance for the Club earlier this season when Wasps took on Northampton Saints at Franklins Gardens. To mark that milestone, Payne was presented with a commemorative canvas as well as his playing shirt from that 250th game.
Following a number of concussions in recent seasons, Nic Berry was forced to retire following specialist advice earlier this season. After the game against London Welsh at Adams Park, London Wasps’ Chairman Mark Rigby presented Berry with a shirt signed by all of the players as a token of his time with the Club.
Thank you to all those fans who stayed behind to help us show our appreciation of these two players.
