Poppy Appeal launched at Adams Park

London Wasps were delighted to host a ceremony on the pitch to mark the 91st year of the Royal British Legion (RBL) at last weekend’s Aviva Premiership game against London Welsh.

In attendance were Kevin Taylor, Vice Chairman of the RBL High Wycombe branch and Poppy Appeal organiser for the district, Squadron Leader and County Recruitment officer for the RBL, Clare Law and Rob Law, County Vice-Chairman of the RBL in Buckinghamshire.

Local cadets offered poppies to supporters in exchange for donations in the car park before the game, as part of the Legion's Appeal to support and help those who have served their country and their families. The RBL’s specific focus this year is to support and provide for families in terms of breaks and health for those in need.

After the on-field ceremony, a minute’s silence was held on the pitch, observed by all supporters, as well as the players and coaches of both teams. The playing of The Last Post also preceded kick-off.

London Wasps would like to thank all of the fans who attended the game for their continued support of the Poppy Appeal.
