Olympic duo delight Adams Park
We were thrilled at London Wasps yesterday to welcome two legendary Olympians from the Team GB super squad to Adams Park.
Rowers Katherine Grainger and Anna Watkins who took gold in the women’s double skulls, took the time to speak about their Olympic experiences pre-match in the Vere Suite much to the delight of a captivated audience of Wasps fans.
After a light-hearted question and answer session with Wasps host David Kurk, fans were able to pose for photographs with the duo and even hold the weighty gold medals that were happily handed out to admirers.
Katherine and Anna also visited the boardroom and spent some time with Chairman Mark Rigby and invited guests. Following an action packed first half, the Olympians ventured onto the pitch during half time and entertained a busy Adams Park alongside MC Pete Nuttell with stories of their Olympic journey and their love of rugby.
Both Olympians received a rapturous reception by our appreciative Wasps fans and we hope they will visit us again in the near future!
