In addition to our Match Day CoacHclass being held at Community Partner Club Marlow RUFC on Sunday 7th October, our Community Rugby Coach Ben Smiley was on hand to referee two U15s friendly fixtures at the Riverwoods Drive Rugby Club.
Ben dusted off his Law Book and whistle to take control of the two matches between Marlow RUFC U15s and Reading RFC U15s; both played at a frantic pace. Marlow's superior backs proved the difference in the first game, playing some excellent attacking rugby in the first half. The second match, in which the squads were rotated, was a close affair with the dominant Reading pack providing a strong platform for their loose forwards and backs to outscore Marlow three tries to two.
After refereeing the games, Ben Smiley told wasps.co.uk: "I was really pleased to be presented with the opportunity to referee these U15s matches because officiating is an important part of our community delivery. I hope both Marlow and Reading U15s can build on some very promising play to have a successful season."
