High Wycombe RUFC on the attack versus Aylesbury RFC
On Saturday 15th September we hosted our first Match Day Tag Rugby Challenge of the new season at Adams Park Stadium during the half-time of our Aviva Premiership game against London Irish.
Over 50 young Tag Rugby players from Community Partner Clubs Aylesbury RFC, High Wycombe RUFC and Marlow RUFC took part in the showcase event played under the new "Shaping the Game" law changes for Tag Rugby.
What is Tag Rugby?
Tag Rugby is a game played by teams of up to seven players. Each player wears a belt that has two velcro tags attached to it. The defenders have to pull one of the velcro tags from the ball-carrying attacking player, to force the player to pass the ball. The game is fast and exciting and develops the players’ agility, balance & coordination while focusing on the FUNdamental core skills of non-contact rugby.
When the teams arrived at Adams Park Stadium they had a team photo on the pitch with our character mascot Sting and London Wasps player player Sam Jones.
