Post Match Reaction: Dai Young

Dai Young gives his reaction the 29-22 defeat at Gloucester.

“It’s a frustrated changing room because we know we could have gotten more out of that game though on balance I think Gloucester deserved to win it.”

“They’ve scored two tries from needless turnovers of ours and we just simply didn’t respect the ball enough. Yes we’ve got a point and perhaps it’s a point we might not have got last year, but we have a better team than last year and we have to set our sights higher.”

“I felt we were lucky to be only seven behind at half time but we stepped it up physically in the second half and unfortunately we left ourselves with a little too much to do.”

“I can take some positives from the endeavour and the attitude we showed in the last ten minutes or so to make sure we got something from the game and had we been a bit more clinical perhaps we could have got more than a point.”

“I suppose I sound like a broken record at this stage but I will keep saying that that 80 minute performance has yet to come from us. We are showing good things in fits and starts but we don’t look capable yet of consistency over the whole game and that’s frustrating. We need to be meaner and tighter and make sure teams are earning every point they get off us.”
