The J.P. Morgan Premiership Rugby 7s Cup took place at Maidenhead RFC on Saturday 15th September and was a day full of fast-running, thrilling rugby.
Maidenhead RFC U14s were the winning team and their players were presented with the cup at Adams Park Stadium by Josh Lewsey during the half-time of London Wasps v London Irish. As part of their prize, Maidenhead RFC U14s have also been invited to attend the J.P. Morgan Asset Management Premiership Rugby 7s Series Final in 2013.
The J.P. Morgan Premiership Rugby 7s Cup is a prestigious 7s festival for Under 14s at grassroots clubs, now into its second year, taking place at the 12 Premiership Rugby clubs in 2012 and 2013. The festival gives valuable experience of the 7s game to youngsters, helping in their rugby development and working towards developing the stars of the future.
Festival Organiser Ian Isham told wasps.co.uk, "We have put on a fantastic 7s rugby event today, through the sponsorship of J.P Morgan and Premiership Rugby, and were delighted with the standard of rugby and fair play spirit demonstrated. Hopefully all the players have developed through the pre-event coaching and the competition itself. I would like to also thank Maidenhead RFC as hosts and Josh Lewsey for his continued support of London Wasps Community Team."
