Community Team visit Old Whitgiftian RFC

Read about our visit to Croydon, South London

On Thursday 23rd August we were delighted to accept an invitation to support the Old Whitgiftian RFC Summer Coaching Camp. Our Community Rugby Coach Ben Smiley joined a team of coaches to deliver a variety of coaching sessions for the different coaching groups:

  • Tag Rugby - Running with the ball and Tagging
  • U9s and U10s - Teamwork
  • U11s and U12s - Teamwork
  • U13s and U14s - 7s coaching

After lunch, London Wasps mascot Sting arrived to meet all of the children, play some of the Tag Rugby games and pose for photographs.

After the session, Community Rugby Coach Ben Smiley told "I was pleased to be invited back to Old Whitgiftian RFC on Thursday to support their coaching course for the third successive year. The children were all fantastically motivated, and eager to learn. Hopefully, they were able to continue the messages into the last day of the course."

We look forward to welcoming Old Whitgiftian RFC to Adams Park stadium later this season.
