  • Have you ever wanted to turn your passion to helping Wasps?
  • Would you like to get involved in our Community Programme delivery?
  • Do you possess good transferable skills and a teamwork ethic that could be utilised at our Community Events?

If the answer to the above is "yes", then the Wasps Community Foundation want you to join them.

As leaders in Rugby Development, the Wasps Community Foundation is expanding to new areas, and we are looking for new members to assist us in our delivery of Match Day and Non-Match Day Events. We will be interested in your services if you have all of the following;

  • The ability to act as an ambassador for Wasps
  • High level of professionalism, appearance and deportment
  • The ability and willingness to work with members of the public from a range of backgrounds with sensitivity and respect
  • A confident and positive approach to customer service
  • Excellent communication and inter-personal skills
  • High standard of spoken and written English
  • Experience of working in a wide range of environments such as schools, club and community settings
  • Experience of working with the voluntary, independent, statutory sectors and community groups
  • Enthusiasm and flexibility
  • Good organisational and problem solving skills
  • Excellent reliability and punctuality

We would also prefer it if you had all of the below;

  • Driving licence and own vehicle
  • DBS Enhanced Disclosure Certificate issued by the RFU or we can organise this for you

We currently employ 220+ part-time coaches and referees with backgrounds such as teachers, policemen, military personnel and former rugby professionals. We welcome employees of businesses who allow you to work in the community as part of their Corporate Social Responsibility. We offer competitive rates of pay linked to the qualifications held, items of Wasps clothing and match tickets linked to the projects the coaches are employed to deliver.

Community Rugby Coach Ben Smiley Told, "I initially got involved with the Wasps Community Team as a volunteer, and as my experience and knowledge of coaching grew I started to move up the pay scale within the Community Team. I am now employed full-time by Wasps and cannot speak highly enough of the Continual Professional Development that was afforded to me when I was a part-time employee."

As our Community Events involve working with children and young people, the post holders will be required to undergo an advanced Disclosure & Barring Service check through the Rugby Football Union and complete a Self Declaration Form. Possession of a valid driving licence and access to a suitable vehicle for use is required, as the posts will involve traveling. All posts may involve working unsociable hours.
