Our former CoacHclass participants and Match Day Ball Boys Alistair and Scott McKenzie from Wendover took part in this year's Coombe Hill Run in support of the London Wasps Community Foundation. The annual run is a 6km race organised by the Vale of Aylesbury Athletics Club which includes 190m of climbing up to the monument on Coombe Hill near their home town of Wendover.
The twins are keen rugby players at Community Partner Club Aylesbury RFC, and have participated as youth players in every year of the CoacHclass experience and many Match Day sessions since its inception. Their dad Stewart McKenzie told wasps.co.uk, "It was the CoacHclass experience that inspired the boys to raise some sponsorship to give something back to the Community Foundation; after having had many years of enjoyment from meeting players and people from other clubs as well as learning core rugby skills and lifestyle / nutritional programmes."
Scott finished first with a time of 29m25s and Alistair not far behind on 36m19s.
Community Rugby Manager Dave Larham told wasps.co.uk, "The McKenzie Family continue to be staunch supporters of London Wasps and in particular our Community Team. All of our CoacHclass players will know Vicky (McKenzie) through her role as our First Aid & Welfare Officer, while Stewart has been a part-time Community Coach with us for 8 years. I am delighted that Ali & Scott have not only continued to engage in healthy activity but also used the opportunity to promote our charity and raise much-needed funds.
With donations still coming in the final total is going to be more than £150 - if you still wish to donate then please do here
