How being active contributes to being healthy

This week (28th May to 1st June) is "Health Week" at the Halton Combined School, Aylesbury, and we were delighted to be invited to launch the week with a health lifestyle assembly for the children. Community Rugby Coach Ben Smiley visited the school on 28th May to talk to the children about the basics of a healthy lifestyle;

  • Why it is important to lead a healthy lifestyle
  • What a healthy lifestyle actually is
  • How being active contributes to being healthy
  • How to eat healthily
  • Why being healthy has benefits beyond just our health

Following the assembly, Ben told wasps.co.uk: "Halton Combined School have been very enthusiastic supporters of London Wasps in recent years, and we were pleased to be able support their event. The assembly was also a great opportunity to build up the excitement for our delivery of the MBNA Tackling Numbers and Aviva Premiership Rugby Schools Programme in the school next half term."

Get involved in 2012-2013

The London Wasps Community Schools Programme is now being organised for the 2012-2013 season, and we are taking expressions of interest for the Aviva Premiership Rugby Schools Programme and MBNA Tackling Numbers Programme (Year 4) and the ESPN Premiership Rugby Masterclass (Year 7 and 8). If you would like your school to be considered for London Wasps' Schools Coaching Programme next year, please contact us by filling in the details here.
