London Wasps team to play Newcastle

London Wasps have been boosted by the return of second-row Marco Wentzel who has recovered from injury to take his place in the starting line-up for the Club’s clash with Newcastle on Saturday.

Wentzel, who has been outstanding in his debut season in the Black and Gold shirt, returns as captain to skipper a side that shows three changes to its starting line-up.

Richard Haughton returns to start at fullback while Wentzel’s return sees Joe Launchbury shift to the back-row, with Sam Jones moving over to wear Poff’s number seven shirt.

Live-wire centre Elliot Daly is back in the number 13 shirt to form a mid-field partnership once again with Dom Waldouck.

Jack Wallace and Jonathan Poff are both ruled out this weekend with injury.

Dai Young said: “As I have been saying all week, the focus tomorrow is simply on the winning the game and if we do that everything else will take care of itself. I have no doubt Newcastle will come here full of belief they can do the job they need to, so it’s up to us to make sure we are in control. I know the boys are very excited about the chance to run out in front of a full-house and our fans will create a wonderful atmosphere.”
