Thomas issues fans appeal

London Wasps CEO Chris Thomas has appealed to fans to snap up their tickets for the Club’s last game of the season against Newcastle, which could still be the key game of this year’s Aviva Premiership campaign.

Wasps face the Falcons on May 5 at Adams Park, and Thomas says a full-house would provide a huge boost to Dai Young and his team as well as offering a timely boost to the Club’s finances.

Thomas said: “Despite an incredibly tough season, the support we have received from our fans has been fantastic at Adams Park and it went a huge way in helping the team to win our last two Aviva Premiership games there against London Irish and Gloucester. While we would all love to see the team secure our Premiership status this weekend, we are all aware that there is a chance that our fate will come down to the final game of the season. It goes without saying that we’re appealing to all of the Wasps fans who have been behind us all year and everyone who has enjoyed our success over the years to do everything they can to help us to fill the ground and give as much support as possible to Dai and the team.”

Thomas also added that a packed Adams Park would also provide a much needed boost to the Club’s short-term finances.

“Everyone is well aware at this point that the Club needs short-term funds so if we could sell out the ground on the final day it would offer us a finance boost that at this point would be very welcome.”

London Wasps play Newcastle on Saturday, May 5, KO 14.00.
