Wasps went down 33-17 to the league-leaders and Young says his team need to get over the loss quickly and focus on Bath next weekend.
“We weren’t good enough today but next week is another week and we have to pull together and go to Bath and get a result, it’s as simple as that. Harlequins are not top by accident and we struggled to handle their intensity especially in the first half when they were relentless. We were better in the final 20 minutes but we can’t get too upbeat about that because the game was lost. We’ve got to dust ourselves off quickly because there’s another big game next weekend.”
Wasps were dealt more injury blows in the game with Richard Haughton hurting his Achilles beforehand and pulling out while Ryan Davis also came off with a foot injury. Young said.
“We don’t have any luck with injuries, everyone knows that. I thought Chris Mayor and Jack Wallace rolled their sleeves up and did well but it doesn’t get any easier for us. It has been a tough week but it’s my job to keep the players focused. Of course everyone is worried about the off the field stuff but we have got to try and put that to the back of our mind. We have a job to do for each other next week. I believe we are capable of going to Bath and getting a result and that's our focus now."
Young also praised his young players for showing total focus despite playing a huge amount of rugby.
“What they have done is show how much they want to be a part of Wasps and they have gone out there every week and given everything. We are asking an awful lot of them to play at this level every week but they are giving us everything.”
