Team News: Wasps V Bayonne

The team to play Bayonne in round four of the Amlin Challenge Cup has been named.

Last weekend Dai Young’s charges travelled to Bayonne and came unstuck with a 19-11 loss and tomorrow night’s game is now vital if the High Wycombe based outfit are to progress in Europe this season.

There are four changes to the starting line-up from the side who faced the same team last weekend.

Richard Birkett and Rob Webber have recovered from minor injuries to come back into the team while Elliot Daly and Richard Haughton come in to the start in the backs. Dom Waldouck shifts to the bench while Tom Varndell and Matt Everard take a break for this game having picked up slight knocks last weekend.

There is one positional shift with Sam Jones moving across the backrow to openside.

Young said: “This is a must-win game if we want to try and win our group. Bayonne are a very dangerous team with some superb individual players but we performed well last weekend and we can take a lot of positives from the chances we created. However, we won’t get a second chance tomorrow night – if we get a sniff of a score we must take it and it’s something we’ve been hammering home this week.”
