London Wasps Teacher Education - Introduction to Tag Rugby

Calling all teachers and club coaches...

London Wasps would like to extend an invitation for you to join us at the Cressex Community School in High Wycombe to learn about the game of Tag Rugby and how to coach it through fun modified games and practices. This FREE opportunity is being delivered in partnership with our "Aviva Premiership Rugby Schools Programme" and "Tackling Numbers in partnership with MBNA Programme".

  • Thursday 15th December from 4.15pm to 6.30pm

What is Tag Rugby?
Tag Rugby is a game played by teams of seven players. Each player wears a belt that has two velcro tags attached to it. The defenders have to pull one of the velcro tags from the ball-carrying attacking player, to force the player to pass the ball. The game is fast and exciting and develops the players’ agility, balance & coordination while focusing on the FUNdamental core skills of non-contact rugby.

Our Introduction to Tag Rugby Workshop will be led by experienced RFU Coach Developers and focuses on;

  • Increased understanding of Tag Rugby
  • Increased knowledge of how Tag Rugby can be taught / coached in an Active, Purposeful, Enjoyable and Safe environment
  • Increased understanding of the rules of Tag Rugby

All attendees will be given a FREE match ticket to join us at Adams Park Stadium for our Amlin European Challenge Cup versus Bayonne; which kicks off after the Workshop.

If you are a teacher, parent helper, coach, or student over 16 years old, and would like to attend, please email Ben Smiley or contact the Community Team on 01494 531122.
