May & Baker RFC "On Tour"

On Sunday 9th October we welcomed the first adult group of the new season to our Match Day CoacHclass at RAF Halton; ahead of our Aviva Premiership clash with Bath Rugby. Dagenham-based May & Baker RFC made the journey from Essex to enjoy a high quality 2-hour practical coaching session on the ruck area, working in pods and decision making. The team worked hard to improve their technical and tactical understanding and decision-making through practices and game situations. London Wasps player Richard Haughton joined the session to provide encouragement and words of advice on the importance of effective communication.

After the coaching session, the May & Baker RFC squad joined our Community Photographs at Adams Park Stadium with London Wasps players Charlie Davies and Sam Jones enjoying a well-deserved opportunity to refuel and "rehydrate" before sitting down to watch London Wasps record a much-needed win.

CoacHclass Programme Officer Ryan Hunt told, "We really enjoyed working with the May & Baker RFC Squad. This session demonstrates that players of all ages can not only enjoy a day out at London Wasps but can benefit from a bespoke 2-hour training session designed to meet their needs. We would like to thank May & Baker RFC and Garry Hill for organising their visit and look forward to seeing them again later in the season."

Match Day CoacHclass is part of the London Wasps CoacHclass Grassroots Rugby Programme. It continues to be one of our most popular programmes that has provided thousands of young people with the opportunity to combine a high quality rugby coaching experience with the excitement of watching London Wasps at Adams Park Stadium.
