A sunny evening at Adams Park greeted hundreds of fans this week who attended an Open Training Session in the build up to the Amlin Challenge Cup game against Harlequins at the Stoop on Friday the 8th of March.
You can view pictures of the evening on our Facebook page here.
The evening gave Season Ticket and Final 8 holders the chance to watch the players train up close as they were put through their paces ahead of a vital game against their rivals.
Coaches Rob Hoadley, Shaun Edwards and Trevor Woodman led the session which was overseen by interim Director of Rugby Leon Holden.
After the training session many of the players stayed outside to sign autographs and chat with fans.
Leon Holden and bright prospect Sam Jones took part in a Q&A session in the Vere Suite after the session.
Holden said “The evening was great for both the players and the supporters. The way that rugby has changed over the last ten years means we don’t get to meet our fans as often as we used to and so this was a great chance to engage with our supporters who have been fantastic again this season even though results are not going our way. We really appreciate them sticking with us and we’ve worked really hard this week so hopefully we can reward them with what would be a huge win for us tomorrow night.”
Academy player Sam Jones said “It was really encouraging to see so many fans on the night and it will be a boost for the boys going into the later part of the season to know that the fans are behind us with big games such as the Amlin Challenge Cup game with Quins this Friday and the St Georges Day Game at Twickenham coming up.”
