We are delighted to announce that Witney RFC will be joining us as a London Wasps Community Partner Club for the 2010 - 2011 season. The Oxfordshire-based Club are 39.2 miles from Adams Park and have become active supporters of London Wasps during recent seasons. The club won the RFU Seal of Approval Club of the Year Award in 2007 and in the 2009/2010 season had a record 386 mini and junior players registered. Since the addition of 7 acres of field in 2009 all mini age groups now have a dedicated pitch and in addition this year had a team of 20 disabled and learning difficulties children playing non contact rugby as the Witney Wolves. Developments later this year will see the 1st XV pitch upgraded, additional floodlighting for a second training pitch, improvements to the access road/minis parking, and a new patio area outside the bar facilities.

Our partnership will initially see London Wasps supporting three events at Witney RFC:

  • Coach The Coaches Session focusing on rucking for Minis & Juniors on Wednesday 17th November 2010 (7.30pm to 9pm)
  • Coach The Coaches Session on attacking back play concentrating on the back 3; late January / early February 2011 (TBA)
  • Support for the Witney RFC Minis Festival on Sunday 6th March 2011
