Academy U18 England Conference representations 2009/10

Although the England age group final squad selections at U18 level are still in process several London Wasps players have been heavily involved in the trial stages to date and are included in the England U18 Conference Squad this weekend at Leeds in a match against the Northern Academies.

Those players are Sam Northcote - Green(7), Elliot Daly(12), Charlie Gordan(9), Chris Elder(13), Billy Vunipola(8), Andy Berry(3) and Anthony Brennan(3).

Ed Church(2) has also been involved against the SW and SE Academies trial matches with the Conference team making a total of 8 players and along with Andy Berry will also play in the Divisional Tournament as a further opportunity to secure their places within the England Conference Squad for season 2009/10.

This is potentially a heavy involvement from London Wasps Academy players within the final England U18 Conference Squad of 32 players to be announced in January 2010 and a great credit to these players. Of particular significance to the Academy development process is the inclusion of Anthony Brennan, achieving the highest possible representative level for an Academy Apprenticeship squad player since the introduction of the programme in Sept 2006, a very important milestone.
