Born in Kettering, James Cannon started playing rugby at Kettering RFC, aged 12, and began his professional career at Northampton.
The giant lock arrived at Wasps ahead of the 2010/11 as a 21-year old who had made eight senior appearances for Northampton and had been part of the England Under-20s Grand Slam-winning squad of 2008.
He made an impressive 22 appearances last season becoming a regular name on the team sheet and scored his first try for the Club against Mogliano in January. He was rewarded with a contract extension at the start of this season alongside teammate Will Taylor.
James is part of a competitive mix of second row players at the Club but has shown his talent when given the chance and he will be looking to further stamp his name on the starting team-sheet this season.
His father is Northampton captain Vince Cannon, who made nearly 450 appearances for Northampton, and has been inducted into their Hall of Fame.
