James Brooks arrived at Wasps last season from Northampton Saints where he spent four years. He is a very versatile player with some rugby league experience with the London Broncos. An England 7s star, James demonstrated his versatility in Dubai, at the start of the 2003/04 season, where he scored six tries having taken over at scrumhalf from the injured Simon Amor and was unlucky not to be named Player of the Tournament. James was a regular in the 7s squad for the last two season, before deciding to concentrate on teh fifteen man-code this at the start of 2005-6.
Born in Henley-on-Thames he played for the Henley club early in his career before spending two seasons with Broncos. He then joined Saints and came through their Academy system before joining the champions. James has now made over 30 starts for the club and is a strong challenger for Alex King's No10 jersey.
