Marco Wentzel
South African lock Marco Wentzel joins London Wasps for the 2011/12 season from Leeds Carnegie.
Having started his rugby career at the Super Rugby franchise the Bulls and winning Test caps for South Africa against Scotland and France, Wentzel spent some time with Benetton Treviso before moving to the Premiership in 2007, when he spent two years with Leicester Tigers before moving to Leeds Carnegie.
Named in the Opta Team of the Season in 2009/10, Wentzel captained Leeds Carnegie last season. Renowned as a formidable element in the lineout, Wentzel will also add leadership qualities and will provide athleticism to the pack.
