Tom Varndell

Tom Varndell joined London Wasps for the 2009/10 season and has quickly become a prolific try-scorer for the club.

The flying winger made an immediate impact in the black and gold shirt, with six tries in his first three games. By the end of his first season, he'd crossed the opposition line 19 times.

He was in similar form last season, scoring the most tries for the club, with a total of 12 tries, despite being sidelined by an ankle injury in February which kept him out of most of the remainder of the season. On the international stage, Varndell was selected for the England U21s and took part in every one of the team's 10 matches in 2005, including the IRB U21 World Championships in Argentina. He was also included in the international Sevens side in Dubai, in 2005, just six days after earning his first senior England cap against Samoa at Twickenham - a debut he marked with a try.

Varndell saw more Sevens action in 2006, travelling to Wellington and Los Angeles, before representing England in the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, where he won a silver medal. He was then included in England's full summer tour of Australia in 2006. In February 2008 he scored twice for the England Saxons and was named in the squad for the 2008 Barclays Churchill Cup, before being called up to the senior squad.

He won the Churchill Cup with the Saxons in 2010, scoring four tries in the tournament.
