Joe Worsley has been dubbed as the best utility back row forward in the country, equally at home in any of the three positions. Joe joined the Club at 16 and, two years later, set the Club record as the youngest player to make a 1XV appearance. He then did the same with the England U21 team, later in the same season.
His 2002/03 season began magnificently, but a hamstring injury forced him out of the England autumn internationals and kept him out of the Premiership for a further six weeks. Despite the injury, Joe helped Wasps to a successful season, winning the Premiership and European Challenge Cup. The following season he was instrumental in Wasps' victorious 2003/04 Premiership and Heineken Cup campaigns, winning the Man of the Match award in the Heineken Cup final against Toulouse.
Joe put in some more great performances in the 2006/07 season, including two Man of the Match awards against Gloucester and Perpignan. He made a healthy 13 appearances in the 2007/08 season and a further 22 appearances in 2008/09. He has now played 290 games for the Club and scored 28 tries. His long service was rewarded with a Benefit year, in 2008/09.
Joe's international career has also been very successful. He's so far won 77 caps for England ' more than any other back row forward with the exception of Lawrence Dallaglio. He claimed a winner's medal with the 2003 Rugby World Cup squad and also featured in the 2007 World Cup campaign, playing an integral role in the team which made it to the final.
However, a hamstring injury forced him to leave the field and kept him on the sidelines for the next few months for Wasps. Joe was called up to further England duties in the 2008 and 2009 Six Nations, with another outstanding performance in Cardiff winning him a Man of the Match award despite England's defeat. His Six Nations performances won him a deserved place in the Lions squad which toured South Africa in 2009 and he played in the victorious third Test.
After further appearances in the 2010 Six Nations, he toured Australia and New Zealand with England and has been named in the EPS squad for the coming season.
