Born in Harringay; North London, Tom Palmer started playing rugby at Barnet Elizabethans, aged 5 and began his professional career at Leeds Tykes in 1997.
As a youngster Tom travelled the world with his family, spending time in Kenya as a boy before returning to Scotland to study at Boroughmuir High School and then heading to New Zealand to study in Otago, where he was selected to play for New Zealand School.
He then returned to the UK, studying Physics at Leeds University and representing Scotland U19 and U21 before opting for England. He won his first England cap as a National One player with the Tykes before signing for Wasps in the 2006/7, quickly becoming a first choice lock and helping the Club to win a Heineken Cup and Premiership title.
He signed for Stade Francais in 2009 and re-signed for Wasps after two seasons in the French Top 14. He returns with great experience having now won 39 caps for England.
