Born in Wigan, Chris Mayor is a rugby league convert having begun his professional career at Wigan Warriors in 2000.
Before joining Wasps ahead of the 2011/12 season Mayor had plenty of experience in the English rugby union professional game after stints with Sale Sharks and Northampton Saints. His six years at Sale included success at the highest level, winning the 2006 Premiership with the Club as a versatile back who could play centre and wing.
The former England U21 and Sevens player headed overseas after two seasons at Northampton to play for Gran Parma in Italy before returning to the English game with Wasps.
He made 15 appearances for the Club last year and captained the side in both LV=Cup game J.P Morgan Sevens games.
