Born in Ashford, Kent , Tom Varndell started playing rugby at Chinnor RFC, aged 9 and began his professional career at Leicester Tigers in 2005.
Tom made his name in Leicester colours as one of the quickest players in the game, scoring tries for fun and being rewarded with call ups for England at Sevens and senior level, having already played for England U21s.
He joined London Wasps for the 2009/10 season and has quickly become a prolific try-scorer for the club.
In his 73 appearances he has scored 36 tries, and last season made an infamous try saving tackle on Sam Vesty in a game against Bath which earned Wasps what proved to be a vital bonus point at the end of the season.
His work off the pitch has been rewarded with two Community Player of the Year Awards.
