Hugo Ellis

A former pupil of St Benedict's High School, Ealing, Hugo joined Wasps Academy in 2006 after having had a very pleasing 2005/6 season, when despite still being at school he was able to establish himself in Wasps A side to make eight appearances over the A's 15 game season, one of the most notable must have been pitting himself against opposition No8 and England international Hugh Vyvyan when Wasps hosted Saracens A in October 2005.

Selection for England U19s Six Nations game against Italy was followed by a trip to Dubai for the U19 World Championships, where he helped England on to third place in the final standings. His international career has continued to flourish ' now captaining the England U20s side who he recently led to victory in the 2008 Six Nations opener against Wales.

Throughout 2006/07 Hugo established himself as a regular achiever in the A team and his efforts have this season led to five appearances in the 1XV.

A useful cricketer, Hugo represented Middlesex U13 and, an Arsenal fan, he also enjoys playing football. His most treasured possessions are his Wales and England caps and his all time hero is Lawrence Dallaglio. Hugo also lists Scott Quinnell as one of the players he most admires, citing his ability to control and influence the outcome of a game. Hugo's dad Wyn played for Wales Schools, Neath and was an Oxford blue.
