Tom Palmer

Born in Harringay; North London, Tom Palmer started playing rugby at Barnet Elizabethans, aged 5 and began his professional career at Leeds Tykes in 1997.

As a youngster Tom travelled the world with his family, spending time in Kenya as a boy before returning to Scotland to study at Boroughmuir High School and then heading to New Zealand to study in Otago, where he was selected to play for New Zealand Schools.

He then returned to the UK, studying Physics at Leeds University and representing Scotland U19 and U21 before opting for England. He won his first England cap as a National One player with the Tykes before signing for Wasps in the 2006/7, quickly becoming a first choice lock and helping the Club to win a Heineken Cup and Premiership title.

He signed for Stade Francais in 2009 and re-signed for Wasps after two seasons in the French Top 14. He returned last season with great experience having won 39 caps for England.

Last season Palmer had an interrupted season after suffering a calf injury in December which required surgery and put him out for three months and ruled him out of the England Squad for the 6 Nations. However, he made 15 appearances for the Club and had a big impact when he returned from injury in March.
