Paul Sackey

An original member of the Wasps Academy, Sackey returned to his roots in March 2005 after spells with Bedford and London Irish. He has made an impressive impact, both on and off the pitch. Sackey was soon named in the 2005 England A squad competing in the Churchill Cup and was then included in the England Elite Player Squad for 2005/06.

The 2005/06 season proved to be a successful one for the winger as he made an impressive 33 starts ' more than anyone else in the squad ' and scored 12 tries, leaving him the second top try scorer at Wasps that season.

The following season, Sackey made his England debut against New Zealand at Twickenham. At the end of the season, he was a part of the 2007 Churchill Cup winning Saxons side. He was then included in the 2007 England Rugby World Cup squad and soon became England's top finisher. Despite knee injury in the 2006/07 season, he was a part of the Heineken Cup final side which beat Leicester Tigers in May.

His long run in the England side came to an end in March 2009, when he suffered what turned out to be a broken leg, in the game against Ireland. At that point, he'd won 22 caps, scoring an impressive 11 tries.

Sackey is closing in on his 100th appearance for Wasps, and he's scored more than 60 Premiership tries.
