Simon Amor

A new recruit for 2006-7, Simon Amor has already built a formidable reputation as a world-class sevens player over the last six seasons.

He can play at scrum half and fly half, but it is Wasps' intention to concentrate on using Amor as a scrum half. The 27 year-old, who has captained the England Sevens team since 2002, makes the move following four years at Gloucester, where he was instrumental in their Middlesex Sevens victory over Wasps in the final last season!

Simon has captained the England Sevens for the past three years. He is in his sixth season with the squad and was voted the inaugural IRB Sevens Player of the Year in December 2004.

An inspiration to all around him, his achievements include leading England to three successive Hong Kong Sevens titles, 2002/03 & 04, and to two London titles on home soil at Twickenham. He was also a member of the Commonwealth Games squad in Manchester 2002.

His full representative honours include Middlesex, London & South East and England appearances at Schools, Colts, Students and U21 levels.

The Kingston-upon-Thames man is also a Cambridge Blue, having graduated with a degree in Management Studies. He is currently studying for an MBA via a long distance learning course with the University of the Southern Cross in Australia.
