London Wasps lose to Montferrand and Bedford

London Wasps completed their pre-season matches with away matches to Bedford and French side Montferrand.

Unfortunately both games were lost, 28-27 to Bedford and 53-10 to Montferrand. The Montferrand game was played in front of 6000 spectators. The game was a bruising encounter with a both sides involved in a brawl. Kenny Logan scored the side's only try, which was converted by Josh Lewsey. Kenny converted a late penalty but the damage had been already done by the Montferrand backline. The Bedford game was a might closer affair with London Wasps narrowly losing. John Rudd, Joe Worsley and John Hart scored London Wasps tries with Alex King converting all three. Mike Whitehead added a late penalty for London Wasps but still lost by 1 point.

The side will travel to Newcastle this weekend for the first round of the Zurich Premiership games and will host Bristol Shoguns on September 8th.
