Q How did the Club arrive at their decision to appoint those currently on the LWSC committee?
A The Club interviewed all that applied and selected the applicants based on their skills for each position.
Q How often will officers on the LWSC committee be required to stand for re-election, or will they be appointed by the Club?
A This point is to be covered in the Constitution, which is due to be published shortly on the website.
Q Are the officers answerable to the Club management or the supporters?
A LWSC Committee members are answerable to both the supporters and the London Wasps Club management
Q Will the LWSC represent all fans, or just season ticket holders?
AThe LWSC will represent all London Wasps fans. There is an email link for any supporter who requires further information or who wants to put forward any suggestions - supporters.club@wasps.co.uk.
Q Who can become a member of the London Wasps Supporters Club?
A London Wasps Season Ticket holders automatically become Supporters' Club members and anyone else can join by paying the appropriate fee. Application forms can be obtained by emailing the Club on supporters.club@wasps.co.uk.
Q Will there be some form of regular communication to provide the supporters with information, feedback etc.?
A Yes. The website is currently being redesigned but there is a Supporters Club page already where information is posted. When the new website is fully up and running there will be regular LWSC information supplied to the supporters. There will also be pages in each matchday programme specifically for the Supporters Club.
Q What will the LWSC do for the supporters? What are its objectives?
A The objectives for the first year will be posted on the website shortly. Briefly, the Management Committee of the LWSC has agreed on four primary objectives for the 2005/2006 season as follows:
i) To facilitate more effective communication between London Wasps and the supporters
ii) To organise away travel to all Guinness Premiership games, if there is sufficient interest
iii) To organise social events for the supporters
iv) To raise funds to donate to nominated charities and to assist the Club in key areas, such as the Academy and the Community Team
Q Is there a Constitution?
A Yes, currently it is in the final stages of being drawn up. It will then be available for all to see on the Supporters Club page on the official website.
Q Aside from accounts, will there be published documents aimed at accountability, similar to business plans and annual reports?
A The LWSC is currently in an infancy state and will need at least 12 months to establish itself. As a Supporters' Club, it is not anticipated that we will produce documentation associated with company business plans and annual reports. However, over a period of time, this may be reviewed.
Q Will there be any form of loyalty scheme introduced or points recognition scheme?
A There are not currently any plans to introduce a loyalty scheme.
Q Will the LWSC send a representative to the National Rugby Supporters' Association AGM?
A Yes, the current vice chairman, Steve Collier, will be the LWSC representative at this meeting
Q Will there be a President of the LWSC?
A Each season, a member of the first team squad will be invited to become the President of the LWSC for that season. The LWSC is delighted that Alex King has agreed to take on this role for the 2005/2006 season. The Committee unanimously agreed that Alex was the ideal choice as he is a real favourite with the supporters and this will also tie in with the fact that it is his benefit year
Q Will tickets for Away matches only be available as part of an official package?
A No, you can buy tickets for Away matches without buying into a package, but Season Ticket holders and LWSC members will first be given priority.
Q Will priority be given to those using the officially arranged package trips rather than the independent traveller?
A Priority on buying tickets will be given to Season Tickets Holders and LWSC members in all cases
Q Where does all the money go that is raised through the membership?
A Specific charities nominated by the LWSC members will benefit from any fund raising undertaken by the LWSC. It is envisaged that at least one of the three charities nominated by Alex King for his benefit year will be included. There will also be areas within the club, for example, the Academy for our up and coming players, that will benefit from the monies raised.
