What are Pre-Season / In-Season Coaching Clinics?
This programme brings all the professionalism of London Wasps' Pre-Season and/or In-Season training sessions to your school as a focus towards the needs of your squad and players aged 6 to 18. Using up-to-date techniques and coaching methods, our coaching involves the development of athletic performance, core rugby skills, game understanding and decision-making. We offer specialist sessions on unit techniques such as scrum, lineout, restart, back play and counter-attack, and individual techniques such as kicking and lineout throwing. All techniques are then performed in competitive game situations to apply progressive pressure (competition, space & time) with the aim to perform technique consistently under pressure (skill).

How does your school benefit from our Pre-Season / In-Season Coaching Clinics?
A priority for every rugby-playing school is to ensure that young players receive high quality player-centred coaching. These types of sessions can be part of your school's involvement in our Independent Schools Programme at all levels to provide your players with increased opportunities to develop their skills, game understanding and decision-making. Teachers and coaches will be able to take many aspects of the training and use within your school sessions.
Schools should be prepared to offer either funded sessions, part-funded sessions or large group ticket sales-linked sessions to become involved in this initiative. Coaching delivery will concentrate on the development of core skills through enjoyable activity; promoting participation in grass roots rugby and support for London Wasps. Our local Community Partner rugby clubs will be utilised as 'pathways' for participating children to continue their rugby playing careers during out of school time.
