Keep reading below for a more detailed description of the types of CoacHclass that are currently available
CoacHclass: (available to players in this season's U7s – U14s) Our standard CoacHclass Program runs from 9am – 3.30pm each day and is designed to provide a fun and rewarding experience for all our players. Players will be split into their relevant age groups where they will be coached and challenged in relation to their stage of rugby development. We also try and educate the players to embrace rugby's traditional values and play the game in the spirit it was intended; something that separates our great sport from some of its other counterparts. At the end of each day, players are rewarded through our CoacHclass Awards where those who show a positive attitude towards training and the way they engage with the group will be recognised.
CoacHclass Academy: (available to players in this season's U13s – U16s) The CoacHclass Academy was introduced last season as a way to provide a more complete rugby experience for our junior rugby players. The CoacHclass Academy runs from 9am – 5pm each day with the focus to continue to develop players' core skills but also to provide a sound understanding of the tactical and position specific elements of the game. Players are provided with our Elite Player Development Workbook which contains information on lifestyle management and areas that they will be educated on in informational presentations throughout each day. This not only provides the players with sound technique and playing ability but also the knowledge of how to enhance their performance by what they do off the pitch as well. All players will receive a full review of their performance at the end of the CoacHclass Academy along with action points on how to continue their post-CoacHclass development. Players that demonstrate exceptional potential may be identified and contacted regarding further opportunities within the London Wasps Academy Structure.
"Rise Above the Rest" Residential CoacHclass in partnership with the Royal Air Force: (available to players in this season's U13s to U17s) This CoacHclass is aimed to take those players who have a real passion and desire to improve their rugby and provide them with an experience they’ll never forget. Alongside an intense rugby program delivered by the very best of our CoacHclass Coaching Team, players will receive education on lifestyle management as well as a full extra-curricular program delivered by the Royal Air Force. These activities will include things such as high and low ropes confidence-building courses, team building and leadership exercises and access to top coaches and players from within the Royal Air Force. The CoacHclass will also be complimented and enhanced by guest visits by some of the games leading experts; including:
Here's what our customers think of CoacHClass:
"The CoacHclass was excellent. The groups were well structured and the coaches catered for all abilities within the group. The players knew what was expected of them and were motivated and, best of all, very happy. It's refreshing to find a course focusing on "real" rugby which was fun but let the boys get stuck in. This was not dumbed down rugby coaching." Nicki Watts (parent)
"A little note for a big thanks to let you know what a fabulous time Jacques had last week, he is still talking about it, he was exhausted at the end of each day and got the 'Most Improved Player Award'! He was so happy he switched his allegiance from the Quins to the Wasps – need we say more? All in all a huge success for us and we can't wait for the next CoacHclass." Caroline Bowkley (parent)
"This is the first time Josh has attended a CoacHclass program at Wasps and he had a wonderful time. The coaching and feedback he received was top class and tremendously useful; giving him both confidence and constructive advice to help him develop his rugby skills at a high level." Kerry Joseph (parent)
"Patrick thoroughly enjoyed the course, so much so he was asking when he could do it again on the Saturday. Patrick's not the most confident of boys and experiences within school and his club haven't helped, however your positive attitude and support had him really buzzing after the course, thank you!" Ellie Pritchard (parent)
"Just a few lines to thank you and all the coaches for providing another outstanding CoacHclass session. Our son Mark has been attending these courses for several years now and we never fail to be impressed by the high standard of coaching and huge level of commitment that you guys demonstrate. Thank you." Amanda Dipper (parent)
